WHERE WE STARTED:
Nathanael Linquist was raised at a young age on the soccer fields of Entebbe, Uganda and made it his goal to give back to the communities that He grew up in. Having played for over 12 years with the soccer players of Uganda, Nathanael saw how large the talent pool for potential stars was, yet how small the opportunity and ability to be seen was. MUNGU was created out of that gap. In June 2022, over 200 kids from across Uganda came together for a week long tryout to scout the best young soccer talent. We picked 20 children to be apart of MUNGU. Our goal is to raise these stars up in soccer, education, and their faith in God, to give them a chance to take their ability to the next level, whether that be in professional contracts or university. While the overall talent of MUNGU ACADEMY is impressive, its unfortunate that over half of our players are orphaned and without education, two key factors to their growth as a child.
WHERE WE ARE GOING:
Now that MUNGU ACADEMY is established, our next goal is to make sure each and every one of these children have their needs met to be able to grow them as an athlete and as a growing child of God. Our main focus within this next phase is to get every academy player:
-Housing
-Education
-Growth in Soccer
-Love of God
Many of our children have no homes, no families, no identity in Christ, and no where to go. MUNGU believes that creating a new generation of Africans starts here. We continue to thank you for your support and prayers as we work and continue to pour love into these young children.

INSIDE LOOK AT MUNGU ACADEMY
We are so proud of our MUNGU ACADEMY soccer players as they have now won the past two tournaments that we have entered into. Alongside victories on the field, our team has started a home visitation program where the whole team goes and sees where their teammates have come from and where they live. This has allowed team bonding and community to be cultivated. Our players are continuing to grow in soccer, their identity in Christ, and their joy and passion for life.
